Send a fax from ChatGPT

ChatGPT can write a letter, but it cannot send a fax on its own. The Fax Anything connector lets it prepare a fax for you and send it once you say so.

Step by step

  1. Connect Fax Anything

    In ChatGPT, add the Fax Anything app and sign in to your Fax Anything account with Google or an emailed code.

  2. Say what to send and where

    For example: “Fax this letter to the landlord at (415) 555-0123.” ChatGPT writes the letter; it cannot attach files.

  3. Check the draft

    ChatGPT shows who the fax is for, how many pages it has, and anything still missing.

  4. Confirm

    Ask ChatGPT to send it. It reports the result when the fax is delivered or if it cannot be.

What to know

  • This connection sends typed letters only. It is not for medical records, government ID documents, payment card numbers or passwords.
  • It sends to US and Canadian numbers only.
  • Your name is printed at the top of each page, and you get an email when the fax is delivered.
  • Fax Anything is an independent service. ChatGPT is a product of OpenAI.

What it cannot do

No. It needs a connector. Fax Anything is one, and it only sends when you ask it to.

Is my letter stored?

The letter is stored encrypted and deleted within 24 hours of the fax’s final status (a draft that is never sent is deleted after 24 hours if you were not signed in, and after 7 days if you were). See how it works.
